SPbSUT participated at the interuniversity meeting with the delegation from Venezuela

On June 5 a working interuniversity meeting with the Venezuelan delegation was held at Nevsky Town Hall. The event was held as a constituent part of the visit of the delegation to Saint Petersburg and was supported by the Committee on Science and Higher Education and the Committee on External Relations of St. Petersburg.

Andrey Maksimov, the Chairman of the Committee on Science and Higher Education led the meeting on behalf of the Russian side. The Venezuelan delegation was headed by the Minister of Higher Education, Mr. Ricardo Sanchez Mujica. The First Secretary of Education and Culture of Venezuela, Mr. Andres Gonzalez was also a delegation member.

At the meeting The Bonch-Bruevich St Petersburg State University of Telecommunications was presented by Yana Ilinskaya the Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of International Cooperation Department.

Key aspects of interaction related to education in the field of information technology and communications, the possibility of international conferences and seminars, the development of online training programs, as well as additional professional training programs in online and offline formats were discussed during the meeting.

Yana Ilinskaya noted that was her second meeting with the Minister of Education of Venezuela, Mr. Ricardo Sanchez Mujica. The first meeting with the Minister occurred at the meeting of the Sub-Commission on Communication, Information and Digital Development of the 18th meeting of the Russian-Venezuelan High-level Commission in Moscow, organized by the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation in November last year via video conference.

"The meeting was conducted in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and constructive dialogue. The Venezuelan colleagues confirmed their intention to enter into a framework agreement on cooperation with SPbSUT. I am confident that this event was an important step towards strengthening academic ties between Russia and Venezuela," Yana said.
