Visit of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Angola to SPbSUT

Honorary Consul of the Republic of Angola in St Petersburg Viktor Budny visited SPbSUT on May 18. Rector of the University Ruslan Kirichek, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and International Cooperation Nina Zhuravleva, Head of the Center for Cooperation with the Middle East and Africa Ahmed Adam welcomed the Honorary Consul.

Ruslan Kirichek presented the achievements of the University, spoke about the priority directions of the University's development in the field of science and education.

Then Viktor Budny met with students from Angola. The students spoke about the learning process, about the University events in which they take an active part, shared their plans for the future, asked questions about the prospect of employment. The Honorary Consul wished the students success in their studies, excellent passing of the upcoming summer examination session.

Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and International Cooperation spoke about the start of the implementation of Master's programs in English in 2023/2024: “Computer Systems Security”, “Internet of Things and Self-organizing Networks”, “Media Technologies and TV-Radio Broadcasting”, “International Political Analysis of World Regions”.

Nina Zhuravleva invited the Honorary Consul to visit SPbSUT in October 2023 to participate in the opening ceremony of the XIX Festival of National Cultures, which this year will thematically highlight the uniqueness of the representatives of the countries of the African region and their presence in the university youth environment of St Petersburg. It should be noted that Viktor Budny was a guest of the X Festival of National Cultures in 2014.

Mr. Budny visited Media Center of SPbSUT and the laboratory "Research of network technologies with ultra-low latency and ultra-high density based on the widespread use of artificial intelligence for 6G networks" (MEGANETLAB 6G). Students under the guidance of Associate Professor of Communication Networks and Data Transmission Department Ammar Muthanna demonstrated ways of working and modeling reality using telepresence technology.
