Students of Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens of SPbSUT and students of St Petersburg College of Telecommunications took part in various events in memory of Alexander Pushkin.

Foreign students visited The Pushkin Apartment Museum and got to know the area of the city near the Moika River.

Students started their studies in Russia at the end of last year, but they already know well the name of our literary genius. They know that he was and remains "the number one poet" in our country. The students read texts about Pushkin, watched fragments of films dedicated to him at Russian language lessons. Teacher Olga Kareva spoke about the life and work of the great writer, about the fact that on this day - February 10 - his life was tragically cut short after a duel. The students laid flowers at the poet's monument.

The inclement St Petersburg weather did not prevent them from taking a short walk around this area of old St Petersburg, capturing unique architectural monuments, canals, bridges and the famous Atlanteans of the Hermitage.

College students performed and won prizes in literary competitions, went on excursions to the Pushkin Library and laid flowers at the monument of the poet.

One of the literary contests was held in the college. Students read their favorite poems and excerpts from the novel "Eugene Onegin". The winners in the nomination "Artistic Reading" were Yaroslav Timofeeva and Elizaveta Matyushkova, "Expressive Reading" – Olga Alekseeva, "Reading"Eugene Onegin" – Stepan Bychkov.

There was an excursion for college freshmen to the Central City Children's Library named after A. S. Pushkin. Students learned how letters were written and sent in the XVIII-XIX century and saw rare copies of books of Pushkin's time, including microbooks.

College student Sabina Matveeva took first place in the city's open literary competition "Moments of High Destiny", dedicated to the 190th anniversary of the release of the novel in verse by A. S. Pushkin "Eugene Onegin". The results of February 9 were announced by the organizer of the competition – the Association of teenage and youth clubs of the Central district "Perspektiva".

College students took part in the flower-laying ceremony at the monument to A.S. Pushkin on the evening of February 10.
