Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism

Today is a special day for our country – the Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism. The memorial date is dedicated to the monstrous tragedy that occurred in the first days of September 2004 in the Republic of North Ossetia.

On September 1, terrorists attacked School No.1 in Beslan during a ceremonial school assembly. 1128 children and adults became hostages of terrorists. More than 300 people died, including 186 children as a result of the terrorist attack. This is one of the largest and most inhuman tragedies in the modern history of Russia.

September 3 has become a symbol of solidarity between the state and society in the fight against terrorism. On this day, we also remember the victims of terrorist attacks that took place in Moscow, St Petersburg, Vladikavkaz, Makhachkala, Volgodonsk and other cities in the country, as well as abroad.

Terrorism is the most cruel phenomenon of our time, the occurrence of which is more important and more effective to prevent. The best tools for countering the terrorist threat are vigilance, solidarity, indifference, tolerance and sincere respect for the traditions of representatives of all nationalities living next to us.
