SPbSUT celebrated Victory Day

SPbSUT celebrated the 78th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. The University held a commemorative event and a festive concert, opened two exhibitions and presented a book about the military merits and exploits of the University staff.

The University events took place on May 5. The team honored the memory of workers and students who defended their Homeland at the cost of their lives in 1941-1945 and performed feats in the fight against Nazism today.

The banner group of the Military Training Center brought the flags of the Russian Federation and SPbSUT, the Victory Banner to the sounds of the anthem of Russia. The names of the heroes of the Immortal Regiment of our University and home front workers were announced. Together with the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, the names of students and university graduates who died heroically during a special military operation were heard: Lieutenant Yury Zhitkevich, Private Alexandr Andreev,Private Artemy Shuzhmov.

Vice-Rector for Project Activities Evgenii Milaev and Head of the Military Training Center Vitalyii Girsh made a welcome speech. They noted the importance of Victory Day as one of the most important national holidays, reminded students of the need to know and remember the history of their country, to give all their strength and knowledge for the benefit of their Homeland and their people.

The festive concert "Victory Roads" took place after the action "Immortal Regiment".

The festive program was continued by the presentation of the book "The Immortal Regiment of SPbSUT", which was prepared by the team of authors of the Department of History and Regional Studies of the Faculty of Social Digital Technologies, consisting of Oleg Yakovlev, Vasily Moseev, Artem Nerovny.

The exhibitions "Turning Point 1943" and "The Revived History of the Great Victory" were deployed in the hall of the University.

All participants of the event, students and employees of the University, proudly put on Saint George's ribbons as a symbol of the memory of generations, strength and courage of our people.

The memory of the feat of the Soviet people who defeated fascism in 1945 is sacred and valuable for all generations of students and staff of SPbSUT.
