Condition of foreign citizens staying in the Russian Federation

Federal Law № 115-FZ of 25.07.2002 "On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation"

 

Documents required for the 1st registration of students, coming to The Russian Federation by invitation of SPbSUT (visa requirements):

Passport with an expiry date not earlier than 1.5 years from the start date of the registration in Russia;
Visa (in the "purpose of the entry" section should be written “study at SPbSUT”);
Migration card (must be taken when crossing  the border to the Russian Federation);
A receipt showing payment of the registration fee (receipt can be obtained from MRS);
Information about residence in one of the dormitories of SPbSUT (issued by SPbSUT);
4 photos 3x4 cm, matt;
Certificate of absence of HIV infection (the certificate must be obtained at home and must be translated into Russian and notarized, it may also be issued in St. Petersburg). The certificate is valid for 3 months.

Documents required for the 1st registration of students enrolled in SPbSUT after the entrance examination or after the interview results (visa-free travel):

Passport;
2 photos 3x4 cm, matt;
Migration card (must be taken when crossing the border to the Russian Federation);
A receipt showing payment of the registration fee (receipt can be obtained from MRS);
Information about residence in one of the dormitories of SPbSUT (issued by SPbSUT);
Certificate of absence of HIV infection (the certificate must be obtained at home and must be translated into Russian and notarized, it may also be issued in St. Petersburg). The certificate is valid for 3 months.

Documents required for the registration of students enrolled in SPbSUT according the translation from other universities or preparatory departments:

Passport with an expiry date not earlier than 1.5 years from the start date of the registration in Russia;
Visa (in the "purpose of the entry" section should be written in “study at SPbSUT”);
Migration card (must be taken when crossing the border to the Russian Federation);
A receipt showing payment of the registration fee (receipt can be obtained from MRS);
The document of the migration registration (expiry date not earlier than 31 days);
Original letter of the consent from the student’s previous school allowing the student to continue the studies at SPbSUT;
4 photos 3x4 cm, matt;
The document, issued by the RF Ministry of education, confirming that the student is within the state quota for foreign students to study in the areas of SPbSUT;
Information about residence in one of the dormitories of SPbSUT (issued by SPbSUT);
Certificate of absence of HIV infection (the certificate must be obtained at home and must be translated into Russian and notarized, it may also be issued in St. Petersburg). The certificate is valid for 3 months.

Documents required for the invitation for studying in Russian Federation

Copy of passport with expiry date not earlier than 1.5 years from the date of commencement of the migration registration in Russia (can be sent by e-mail or by fax);
Payment for the invitation;
Application for obtaining a visa addressed to the Head for International Cooperation Department with the following information in Russian :
  • Name (as in the passport);
  • Date of birth;
  • Nationality (citizenship);
  • State of birth (country, city);
  • State of residence (country, region);
  • Proposed date of entry;
  • Place of obtaining a visa (country, city);
  • Place of work;
  • Address of the place of work (full);
  • Position;
  • Passport details (passport validity at least 6 months from the date of entry to Russian Federation).

The invitation will be within 45 days from the date of application. The processing time is determined by the registration procedure established by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of The Russian Federation.

If it is necessary to send the invitation abroad, this cost must also be paid by the invited person.
