Foreign students of SPbSUT learned the history of space exploration

16 april 2024

Foreign students of Preparatory department, together with teachers and participants of  International Student Club “Signal”, visited V. P. Glushko Museum of Cosmonautics and Rocket Technology. The excursion took place on Cosmonautics Day.

Students got acquainted with the history of space research and museum exhibits, saw spacecraft, spacesuits, and photographs of cosmonauts.

The students were especially surprised by the fact that the dogs Belka and Strelka were the first to fly into space, and not Yuri Gagarin. Students had many questions about the living arrangements and nutrition of astronauts during flight.

Foreign students were lucky enough to witness the midday shot from the Peter and Paul Fortress, which was made on that day by pilot-cosmonaut, Hero of Russia Andrei Borisenko. The traditional celebration of the "Cosmonautics Day", dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's birth, was held on the territory of the fortress.

Meetings of  International Signal Club, the winning project of the Rosmolodezh grant, are held at SPbSUT on a regular basis. You can join the participants or organizers at any time during the year (office 345/1).
