SPbSUT met the delegation of the Embassy of Angola on June 22. Ambassador of the Republic of Angola to Russia Augusto da Silva Cunha, Honorary Consul of Angola in St Petersburg Victor Budny, Second Secretary of Embassies Emerson Jose Francisco Adao, Head of the Student Department Manuel Domingos de Oliveira Cadete and translator Lyudmila Salete Canimbue visited the University
Rector of the University Ruslan Kirichek, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and International Cooperation Nina Zhuravleva, Head of International Cooperation Department Aleksandra Soloveva, Head of the Center for Cooperation with the Middle East and Africa Ahmed Adam welcomed the guests.
Ruslan Kirichek presented the forms and fields of study of the University, Nina Zhuravleva told about international activities and achievements of foreign graduates.
Members of the delegation talked with students from Angola studying at SPbSUT. The students talked about their progress and impressions of studying. The Ambassador noted that "there is no future without knowledge" and encouraged students to study hard to use their knowledge for the benefit of Angola. He informed that graduates with honors diplomas are awarded with medals and diplomas at a high level.
The honored guests were given an excursion of the laboratories of the faculties and presented the possibilities of Media Center. Director of the SPbSUT Museum Sabina Deripasko made an excursion into the history of communications and television.
Mr.Ambassador thanked for the organization of the meeting and expressed interest in increasing the number of students from Angola at SPbSUT.
He left a note in the book of honored guests: “Dear Rector! It was a great pleasure to visit your educational institution. Obviously, the University has a high potential in the dissemination of scientific knowledge. I am sure that the number of foreign students from Angola will increase in the near future.
