SPbSUT took part in the Second Russia-Africa Summit

The delegation of St Petersburg University of Telecommunications took part in the Second Russia–Africa Summit and the Economic and Humanitarian Forum within the framework of the summit. In the work- building relationships with African partners in education, digitalization and telecommunications.

Rector Ruslan Kirichek, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and International Cooperation Nina Zhuravleva, Advisor to the Rector for Interaction with Industrial Partners Anton Trukhachev, Head of the Center for Cooperation with the Middle East and Africa Adam Ahmed were representatives of SPbSUT at the summit.

Colleagues joined the business program, attended thematic sessions and round tables, held working meetings and visited the stands of the University's industrial partners.

Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and International Cooperation Nina Zhuravleva held a working meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Sudan to Russia Mohammed Elghazali Eltigani Sirrag. The main ways of cooperation in the field of personnel training for the telecommunications industry were outlined.

St Petersburg University of Telecommunications has been successfully training students from Africa for a long time. Among the most famous graduates of the University are Hamadoun Toure, a native of Mali, Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union in 2007-2014, and Samuel Muhizi, a native of Burundi, Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory and Control Agency of the Republic of Burundi.

Rector of SPbSUT Ruslan Kirichek spoke in Moscow at the Russian-African IT Forum in the spring of 2023. He stressed that the University intends to train managers in the technical field to work in Africa.
