From September 22nd to 26th, a meeting of the expert discussion platform of the Association of Eastern European Universities (EEUA) was held on the basis of the V.I. Vernadsky Crimean Federal University (CFU) in the cities of Simferopol and Yalta. The event was dedicated to trends, guidelines and practices of universities in international activities in 2021.
The participants were more than 20 experts from leading Russian universities: RUDN, TSU, LETI, HSE, etc. SPbSUT was presented by Irina Karimova, Head of the International Cooperation Department, at one of the working sessions held at the Yalta branch of the CFU on September 24th.
The expert community was presented with a report on such an instrument of internationalization of training programs as international virtual exchanges, which can become an alternative and additional form of academic mobility of students and teachers. Irina Karimova shared her successful experience in the framework of a project with Davidson-Davy Community College (North Carolina, USA), which has been implemented since the fall of 2019 in the form of joint classes of students of humanities and technical areas in English.
During the discussion of the working sessions, the participants of the event discussed the successful experience of cooperation with industry partners in order to implement the international activities of universities, modern challenges faced by universities on the way to internationalization, as well as prospects for promoting Russian education abroad.
