ITU Youth Model started at SPbSUT

Opening of the Youth Model took place on October 18 at SPbSUT. Modeling of the activities of one of the oldest international organizations dealing  with communications issues is taking place for the first time. 

Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Alexander Shestakov, Director of ITU Regional Office for CIS Countries Natalia Mochu and Head of  International Cooperation Department Irina Karimova made a welcoming speech.

The purpose of the event is to form a deep understanding among young people of the activities and prospects for the development of the information and telecommunications technology industry, the importance of international cooperation in this area.
The participants of the Youth model are students, undergraduates, postgraduates from SPbSUT, ETU “LETI”, Saint Petersburg Mining University, PGUPS, Inha University (Uzbeksitan), TUIT (Uzbeksitan). Students got acquainted with each other, with the activities of ITU, visited SPbSUT Museum and Media Center, and also learned about three sectors of ITU-D (Development), ITU-T (Standardization) and ITU-R (Radio
communications).

The event will be held until October 20. Speakers from SPbSUT, ITU Regional Office, and Radio Research Institute will talk about ITU's activities, participants will discuss problems and prospects for the development of communications, simulate a meeting of one of  ITU research commissions, and try to prepare a contribution.
