SPbSUT and T8 launched training at the basic Department of the Armed Forces DWDM

On February 17th, the Faculty of Infocommunication Networks and Systems started training at the new basic department of high-speed trunk transport DWDM systems of the company "T8" (VTS DWDM). 20 people started training – students of the directions "Infocommunication technologies and communication systems" and "Photonics and optoinformatics".

Classes for students will be conducted by leading teachers of SPbSUT and specialists of the company "T8". The training programs were prepared by the company's specialists and the teaching staff of the Department of Photonics and Communication Lines.

Students were awarded training kits from the company "T8" and branded badges of the basic department. On the same day, introductory lectures "T8 Company and the main objectives of the training course at the basic department" and "Principles of construction, basic parameters, communication quality assessment and block diagrams of modern VOSS, including systems with CWDM and DWDM technologies" were held

The creation of the department in December 2021 was made possible thanks to the long-term cooperation of the University of Telecommunications and T8 LLC– a leading Russian developer, manufacturer and installer of telecommunications equipment for spectral compaction (DWDM), as well as the author of innovative solutions for high-speed fiber-optic communication networks.

The project was presented to students and over the past month and a half, those who will be the first to master the curriculum were selected. In motivation letters and interviews, the guys demonstrated interest in advanced optical technologies and developments of the company "T8", expressed a desire to obtain relevant knowledge and skills that will help them become in-demand specialists in the telecommunications market.
