The procedure and conditions for the entry of foreign students to the Russian Federation

15 september 2021

On August 27th, 2021, the Operational Headquarters for the Prevention of the import and spread of a new coronavirus infection on the territory of the Russian Federation approved an algorithm for organizing work in relation to foreign students arriving in the Russian Federation for the purpose of studying in educational organizations from all foreign countries, regardless of the resumption of air traffic.

SPbSUT is working to include foreign students who want to come to the territory of the Russian Federation to continue their studies from countries with which air traffic has not been resumed in the register for placement on the portal of state and municipal services. To do this, all students who want to come to study should be sent to the e-mail of the international cooperation department dmo@sut.ru a copy of a valid international passport.

Before coming to Russia, foreign students must notify the Department of International Cooperation by e-mail at least 10 days in advance dmo@sut.ru about the date of entry into the Russian Federation. In the letter, you must specify the surname and first name, citizenship, and attach a copy of the ticket. Before arriving in Russia, it is necessary to check the availability and correctness of the data of the document according to which it is planned to cross the border of the Russian Federation in the lists using the form on the Public Services portal. Please note that the purpose of entry in the migration card should be-STUDY.

No earlier than 3 calendar days before arrival in Russia, you must pass a PCR test. If the result is negative, it is necessary to obtain a corresponding document in Russian or English in your country.

Within 72 hours after entering the territory of Russia, foreign students must pass a repeated PCR test. Before receiving the results, it is necessary to observe the self-isolation regime at the place of residence. During the isolation period, the training takes place in an online format. Foreign students are not allowed to study full-time without a repeat test.

We ask you not to forget about timely registration for migration registration immediately after you are granted access to the buildings of SPbSUT! All foreign citizens arriving for study must apply for a medical insurance policy.

If during the period of self-isolation, foreign students who have arrived in Russia have the first symptoms of the disease (fever, sore throat, runny nose, cough), the student should immediately report this to the university and call a doctor.
