RUSSOFT: SPbSUT is in the top 20 Russian universities for training IT specialists

St. Petersburg University of Telecommunications has re-entered the "Rating of Russian universities for training IT specialists" according to RUSSOFT. The rating is formed annually on the basis of a survey of managers of software companies in Russia.

In 2021, the rating was based on the ratings of 162 companies. Respondents mentioned 125 educational institutions, including 113 Russian higher education institutions from 35 regions. The ranking was carried out according to the amount of points scored and reflected both the number of trained specialists and the quality of training.

This year, The Bonch-Bruevich St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications took the 20th place out of 50, scoring a total of 16 points. According to the results of surveys in 2016-2019, SPbSUT ranked 18-20 out of 43, sharing it with Don State Technical University and Kazan National Research Technical University named after A. N. Tupolev.

More than 100 Russian universities participate in the expanded version of the rating every year, the best are in the top fifty, the authors of the project note - the Non-profit Partnership of software developers RUSSOFT. It is emphasized here: business leaders give "the most objective assessments of how effectively educational institutions for training specialists in the field of software development perform their functions."

According to RUSSOFT, most universities that train software developers work in Moscow (16 universities), St. Petersburg is in second place (12 universities).
