Round table with participation of Community Colleges of the USA

Last week, a round table dedicated to the internationalization of higher education was held on the basis of SPbSUT.

It was attended by representatives of leading universities of St. Petersburg and Moscow and by a delegation of public colleges representatives from the United States of America, who are undergoing a two-week internship in Russia under the Fulbright academic exchange program. The head of Department on work with foreign students of Portland Community College Allison Blizzard, Director of Community College campus "Three Rivers" Mark Vesligaj, Deputy Dean of the County Davidson Community College Timothy Gwillim, Senior Vice-President of Montgomery College Dr. Sanjay Rai, Vice Dean of the Northampton Community College Robert Smith were granted with scholarship In 2019 .

The first Vice – Vice-rector for educational work of SUT G. M. Mashkov, Vice-rector for educational work and public relations I. A. Alekseenko, Director of the Fulbright program in Russia Joel Erickson addressed the participants of the meeting with a welcoming speech. Both Russian and American sides noted the importance of cooperation in the field of education and science, exchange of students and teachers.

Representatives of Russian universities made presentations, highlighting the features of the Russian education system, opportunities for interaction with educational organizations in the United States. In addition, St. Petersburg universities have widely presented short-term training programs, such as summer and winter schools.

Also, the Russian and American guests visited the SUT scientific-educational center "Media center", interacted with students of 1 course of faculty of Isit group 842 EAST learning English. Colleagues were pleasantly surprised by the actively developing and supported by the University student movement in eSports "CyberBonch".

The round table allowed the participants to exchange experiences in the field of attracting and training foreign students, as well as to establish contacts for future cooperation.
