Summer School on Internet Governance: registration of participants

From July 19th to August 23rd, the Second Summer School on Internet Management in an online format will be held.

The Summer School is organized by the Coordination Center доменов.ru/.рф together with the Faculty of International Relations of St. Petersburg State University. The initiative will be part of the Global Schools on Internet Governance movement.

The main task of the school is to immerse students in current issues of Internet governance and digital cooperation at the global and local level, to develop skills for full participation in international organizations, conferences and dialogues on these topics.

The target audience of the school is students, postgraduates, young teachers, researchers of all educational profiles, as well as specialists and professionals interested in the topic of the Summer School. Participation in the event is free of charge, following the successful completion of the program, students will receive certificates.

From July 19th to 31st, the preparatory and qualifying stage will be held.

Participants will take an introductory course on Internet governance to immerse themselves in the global context. Participants will discuss the material they have learned at weekly conference calls, as well as complete homework assignments that will help check how well they have mastered the topics.

At the end of the stage, it is planned to select the 40 most active and involved participants for the main stage.

The main stage will be held from 5th to 23rd August.

The main stage is a program of additional education from St. Petersburg State University and involves the interaction of participants with experts and practitioners in the field of Internet management during thematic lectures and discussions. Additionally, there is a group work of participants on current topics of Internet governance.

Topics of the main stage classes:

Why do we need ethics in AI?
Cybersecurity: Can global rules be developed?
Sovereignty and digital-is there a contradiction?
Regulation of digital platforms: How to break the deadlock?
At the end of the Summer School, participants will also write an analytical essay on one of the topics of the classes.
