Programming Skills Competition «ST Design Comp»

From November 21st to 23rd «ST Design Comp» Programming contest was held in the ST-art-UP laboratory of the Department of Design and Production of Radio Electronic Equipment SPbSUT, with the support of one of the world's leading manufacturers of semiconductor components «STMicroelectronics».

 The event was attended by students from various St.Petersburg universities. Within the framework of the competition, the participants developed projects that meet the requirements of the Internet of Things technologies, built on the latest element base of STMicroelectronics.

 The jury of the competition included employees of the company’s representative office in Russia and the CIS. The event was also attended by the Head of Distributor Relations in Russia and the CIS N.E. Doronina and the head of engineers in Southern, Northern, Eastern Europe and Israel Letizia Petralia (Italy). Representatives of the company got acquainted with the university and the ST-art-UP laboratory, discussed plans for further improvement of the laboratory's material and technical base.

 The winner of the programming skills competition was the «LayOut» team from the Military Academy of Communications with the «Move it» project, in which using the portable unit based on MEMS sensors, remote control of the executing arm using the BLE 4.2 protocol was implemented. The second place was taken by the team from SPbSUT «Undefined Behavior» consisting of Alexandrova Kristina (RTS, RK-92), Chesnokov Vadim (RTS, RK-92), Gorentseva Evgeniya (RTS, RK-92), Golovlev Timofey (IKSS, IKPI-95 ) and Anton Sherstnev (RTS, RK-91) with the Smart Lock project, the third place was taken by the team from the Military Academy of Communications «Communication» with the «Save System» project for monitoring room parameters using neural networks.

 Winners and prize winners were awarded prizes from STMicroelectronics.

 All participants were invited to participate in the spring competition, where in addition to traditional prizes and gifts, the most skillful students will be offered summer internships at the STMicroelectonics representative office in Moscow.
