The opening of the "Artificial Intelligence in communication networks" laboratory

On May 29th, the opening ceremony of the new laboratory "Artificial Intelligence in communication networks"at the Department of Communication networks and data transmission was held. The opening was timed to the start of the 73rd Regional scientific and technical conference of students, postgraduates and young scientists "STUDENT SPRING – 2019", as well as the world summit of the International telecommunication Union "Artificial intelligence for good" (Geneva, May 28th-31st).

The opening speech was held by the head of the Department of Communication networks and data transmission A. E. Kucheryavy, who noted the relevance of the research on artificial intelligence in telecommunications and the need to establish contacts between innovators in the field of artificial intelligence, as well as in determining the practical applications of artificial intelligence in telecommunications networks.

The aims and objectives of the laboratory were told by its supervisor Muthanna Ammar Saleh Ali, Ph. d, associate Professor, Department of Communication networks and data transmission, research fellow of the Center for advanced research in 5G of The People's Friendship Univeristy of Russia. In the presentation, Muthanna Ammar spoke about the current state of research in the field of artificial intelligence for communication networks at both in the international arena and at the national, defined the ways and strategy for the development of the laboratory.
