Veliky Novgorod hosted guests from SPbSUT

SPbSUT students together with the winners of the intra-faculty esports competitions went on a tour of the snow-covered Veliky Novgorod on November 27.

Veliky Novgorod is one of the oldest cities in Russia and is considered the first capital of Ancient Rus. Novgorod temples suffered greatly during the Great Patriotic War, but thanks to the painstaking work of restorers, a significant part of the architectural monuments was restored. Today they are included in the UNESCO list.

Students visited the main sights: Yaroslav's Courtyard, the Novgorod Kremlin with St Sophia Cathedral and the Millennium of Russia monument. Students were amazed by the beauty and grandeur of memorable places.

Students visited the Museum of Wooden Architecture in the open air "Vitoslavlitsy" at the end of the tour, where they got acquainted with the rural life of Russia and wooden architecture of the XVI-early XX centuries.

Positive emotions prevailed throughout the trip. And hot tea and the warm atmosphere of hospitable Novgorod helped not to freeze during long walks!
