Specialty 230201 "Information systems and technologies"
Objects of professional activity of engineer in specialty 230201 are information systems and networks, their mathematical, information, and software support, means and methods of designing, debugging, manufacturing and operating of technical and software facilities of information systems in the communications field.

Engineers of this specialty participate in creation of information and telecommunication infrastructure of Russia, as well as European and global infrastructures, ensure the process of convergence of informatics and telecommunications, develop new information services, multimedia technologies, geo-information technologies, systems of decision making support.

They are able to provide access and navigation in the world information web, to participate in informatization and intellectualization of units, enterprises, and establishments, as well as various spheres of activity, including telecommunications.

The opening in the University of the course "Information Systems" and of the specialty "Information systems and technologies"reflects a common tendency of information industry development, takes into account the needs of Russian economy branches for qualified specialists in the field of information systems and technologies.

Communications is not an exception; for its development, convergence of information systems and telecommunication networks acquires an increasing importance. It's not by accident that when forming the Government of the Russian Federation , issues of information technologies and communication management have been combined under control of the same ministry.

Training of specialists in information systems and technologies is carried out by the graduating chair "Information managing systems". The chair possesses a high scientific potential. There are 6 doctors of sciences and professors in this chair. In recent years, the chair collective has prepared dozens of monographs, manuals, Ph. D., and doctoral theses. Members of the chair work in methodical commissions on separate specialties of Joint Council in the field of polytechnic education. At present, specialization В«Information technologies in designВ» is included into the framework of specialty В«Information systems and technologiesВ».


Course 654700 is developing intensively. The university actively participates in the process of opening new specialties and specializations.

Such disciplines as theory of information systems and processes, information networks, systems simulation, intellectual information systems, multimedia technology, and a number of others are studied here.

The chair takes active part in the process of forming new specializations.
