In October, 2005, The Bonch-Bruevich Saint-Petersburg State University of Telecommunications celebrated its 75th Anniversary.

In 75 years past the university has graduated more than 60,000 highly skilled specialists in the field of communications and information technologies. Specialties have been changing, training laboratory base of the university has been continuously improved, new buildings have been constructed, scientific discoveries have been made, theses have been defended, and dynasties of teachers and employees have emerged. But one thing remains the same: today, as 75 years ago, specialists, trained by the university, are highly demanded by our country, its North West region and communication industry.

State educational institution of higher professional education “The Bonch-Bruevich Saint-Petersburg State University of Telecommunications”, one of the oldest technical schools in Russia , confidently looks into the future. XXI century is the century of information society. The highest qualification of teachers and scientists, the newest methods, facilities, and forms of training make it possible for our university to graduate specialists who conform to the requirements of developing industry. A decision conce rn ing creation of IT-park (a scientific and technological park specialized in the field of information technologies) on the basis of our university has been made lately.
